West Delhi election results: The seven seats in the district are Janakpuri, Nangloi Jat, Hari Nagar, Madipur, Moti Nagar, Tilak Nagar and Rajouri Garden

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dominated West Delhi, winning six of the seven seats, as the results of the state assembly elections were announced on Saturday. Jarnail Singh became the only Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader who won from the district.
The seven seats in the district are Janakpuri, Nangloi Jat, Hari Nagar, Madipur, Moti Nagar, Tilak Nagar and Rajouri Garden.
AAP’s top leaders, including national convenor and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Satyendar Jain, have lost their elections. Kejriwal lost the high-profile New Delhi seat to BJP’s Parvesh Verma by a margin of 4,089 votes.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is poised to form a government in Delhi after more than 26 years. Former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia conceded defeat by 675 votes to BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah in Jangpura. Parvesh Verma, the son of former chief minister Sahib Singh Verma, told reporters that the credit for his “victory” belonged to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of Delhi.

- Janakpuri: Ashish Sood of the BJP defeated Parveen Kumar of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Rajesh Rishi of AAP won in this seat, defeating Sood of BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Rajesh Rishi of AAP won in this seat, defeating Prof Jagdish Mukhi of BJP.
- Nangloi Jat: Manoj Kumar Shokeen of the BJP defeated Raghuvinder Shokeen of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Raghuvinder Shokeen of the AAP defeated Suman Lata of the BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Raghuvinder Shokeen of the AAP defeated Manoj Kumar Shokeen of the BJP.
- Hari Nagar: Shyam Sharma of the BJP defeated Surinder Kumar Setia of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Raj Kumari Dhillon of the AAP defeated Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga of the BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Jagdeep Singh of the AAP won, defeating Avtar Singh Hit of BJP.
- Madipur: Kailash Gangwal of the BJP defeated Rakhi Birla of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Girish Soni of the AAP won against Kailash Sankla of the BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Girish Soni of the AAP defeated Raj Kumar of the BJP.
- Moti Nagar: Harish Khurana of the BJP defeated Shivcharan Goel of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Shiv Charan Goel of the AAP won, defeating Subhash Sachdeva of the BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Shiv Charan Goel of the AAP won, defeating Subhash Sachdeva of the BJP.
- Tilak Nagar: Jarnail Singh of the AAP defeated Shveta Saini of the BJP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Jarnail Singh of the AAP had won, defeating Rajiv Babbar of the BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, too, Singh had defeated Babbar.
- Rajouri Garden: Manjinder Singh Sirsa of the BJP defeated A Dhanwati Chandela of the AAP. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Chandela had defeated Ramesh Khanna of the BJP. In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, Jarnail Singh of the AAP had won against Sirsa (then SAD).
