Kapp finished with figures of 2/11 in her four overs against Mumbai Indians in the WPL 2025 final
South African pacer Marizanne Kapp breathed fire in the WPL 2025 final, uprooting Mumbai Indians’ all-rounder Hayley Matthews’ stumps on March 15 (Saturday). Matthews was always going to be a vital cog for MI, and there was a lot of focus on her again in the final, with Yastika Bhatia struggling.
But Kapp’s brutal delivery, which seemed like an outswing, seamed right back into the right-hander, cutting her into half. All that the West Indian all-rounder could do was watch her stumps get shattered as she walked a long way back to the dressing room for a ten-ball three.
It was a rare failure for Matthews and definitely one of the slowest innings of her WPL career. Meanwhile, at the other end, Kapp struck yet again, to remove Yastika too, who got out for a 14-ball 8, continuing her poor form.
