Vodafone Idea Down: No signal? Over 1800 outage reports of ‘blackout’, Vi mobile internet issues – Latest update
Downdetector, which tracks such outages, showed over 1880 complaints concerning Vodafone Idea network issue after midnight. The number of complaints peaked at 1940 at around 1:01 am on Friday, April 18. Downdetector only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.
Vodafone Idea Network Problem Today
Users also took to Twitter to flag the issues they faced with their Vi network with some saying that it seems like the whole network is down. “Are people still using VI (Vodafone Idea)? It seems like the network is completely down,” a user shared on X.
According to Downdetector, the cities where users are facing the most issues include New Delhi, Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, and Pune. In their complaints, 71 per cent users reported facing “no signal”, 21 per cent reported “total blackout” and 9 per cent said they were facing issues with “mobile internet”.
There was no official word from the company at the time of writing this copy.
Vi network issue comes just a few days after hopes of its revival emerged as the government increased its shareholding in the telco to nearly 49 per cent. Last week, the debt-ridden telco informed that its Capital Raising Committee of the board has issued and allotted 3695 crore shares to the DIPAM.
Vodafone Idea Credit Rating Upgrade
Ratings agency ICRA has improved its credit rating on Aditya Birla Group-led telecom company. On Friday, ICRA improved its credit rating on Vodafone Idea by a notch. The agency has upgraded the rating to BBB- for Vi’s long-term fund facilities as against BB+ rating assigned by CARE Ratings back in June 2024.
