The last couple of years have seen me finally get the long-awaited sequels to videogames I love. Diablo 4, Space Marine 2, even Dragon Age: The Veilguard – I’ve been eating well recently. Perhaps at the top of my ‘most-anticipated’ list, however, is Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 which, while I remain hopeful, has been met with a somewhat lukewarm response. Having already been delayed once, the sequel to one of the best PC games ever made has been hit with yet another pushback, but at least we now have a release window.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 feels like it’s somewhat cursed. We’ve seen it change hands once already, and Paradox itself has even said that it wouldn’t make a Bloodlines 3, instead stating that it would be handed off to another developer. The highly anticipated vampire game has already been hit with a delay once and, unfortunately, will be subject to yet another pushback – but, at least we have a new launch window. Silver linings, I guess.

In a Tuesday March 25 developer update, Marco Behrmann, the executive producer of the World of Darkness (the roleplaying umbrella that Vampire: The Masquerade belongs to alongside sister titles like Werewolf: The Apocalypse) confirms that Bloodlines 2 will not launch in early 2025.
“Since our last update, we have added more content to the game,” Behrmann states. “[There’s] more narrative depth, more character development, and we have also evolved Fabien’s role in the storyline.” Fabien, for those unfamiliar, is the voice that exists in Phyre’s head following their unceremonious reawakening.
“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” he confirms. Small jump for joy. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.
“Bloodlines 2 will release in October of this year [2025],” Behrmann confirms. “In the meantime, please join us on Discord for any questions or updates.”
