Jessica Pegula is bringing the heat this year, both on and off the court.
Pegula started off this year by reaching the final at the Adelaide International. She ultimately fell short to Madison Keys in a three-set thriller. Less than two months later, she won her first WTA title of the season by taking down McCartney Kessler 7-5, 6-2 in the ATX Open.
On Wednesday night, Pegula has a chance to advance to the semifinals of the Miami Open. Standing in her way is former US Open champion Emma Raducanu. They’ve split their two head-to-head meetings so far.
We caught up with Jessica Pegula to discuss her 2025 season, her partnership with Call of Duty: Mobile and much more.
The Spun: Can you tell us about your partnership with Call of Duty: Mobile and why the “Make it Mythic” campaign was a great fit for you?
Jess Pegula: It’s been a cool partnership and it’s something I’ve wanted to do. I’ve always been a secret gamer – not anything crazy intense like some people, but I play a lot. With my travel schedule, I can’t always bring my console on the road to me. I used to travel with my PS4, but I can’t travel with my PS5 since it’s a little bigger. I’ve been playing Call of Duty: Mobile since it’s easier for travel. It’s different, but it’s cool to break into that realm of something totally different. As for the shoot, it was great. It was something I’ve never done before with the green screen and CGI. It was a really fun experience.
