If you’re still peering at a 24-inch screen and fancy making the jump to a massive monitor that fills your face with gaming action, then this Samsung gaming monitor deal is for you. Right now, you can save a massive $100 off the usual price of the 32-inch Samsung Odyssey G3 G30D, bringing down the price to just $179.99, which is a bargain for the sheer amount of screen real estate on offer.
This particular Samsung monitor uses a VA Panel, and in our tests we’ve found that this tech offers higher contrast and deeper blacks than rival IPS tech, making it ideal for single-player cinematic games, such as Oblivion Remastered. On the downside, as you’ll see in our IPS vs VA feature, VA panels can be slower to respond than IPS screens, with more obvious ghosting effects, so they’re not ideal for fast-paced competitive first-person shooters.
You even get a decent refresh rate on this cut-price 32-inch monitor, which can run at up to 180Hz, enabling it to keep up with the fast frame rates output by your graphics card. It also supports AMD FreeSync, so if you have an AMD GPU, it will synchronize the refresh rate with your frame rate in the game, putting a stop to irritating tearing effects. In our own tests, we’ve also found that you can often enable Nvidia G-Sync on FreeSync displays to work on Nvidia GPUs too, but this monitor isn’t officially listed as G-Sync compatible, so there’s no guarantee here.
Meanwhile, the ergonomic stand offers plenty of adjustment, including height, tilt, swivel, and pivot options, and you get both HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, so you can hook up a console as well as your gaming PC. If there’s one disappointment, it’s that this screen only has a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, which is going to make games look pretty chunky on the 32-inch panel compared to a sharper 2,560 x 1,440 or 4K resolution. On the plus side, though, that means you won’t need to splash out on the best graphics card available in order to run your games at 180Hz on it.
If you want to take advantage of this offer, then click on this link here to take you to the Samsung store, where you can currently save $100 on this 32-inch monitor. Meanwhile, gamers in the UK can currently pick up the same monitor for £199, which isn’t quite as good a deal, but still isn’t bad if you’re looking for a large monitor without paying over the odds.
