Nothing does a videogame more justice than a trailer. I could sit and explain the ins and outs of a complex and addictive roguelike strategy bonanza to you all day, but just seeing it in action instantly tells you how it works. This is true of The Deadly Path, a beautifully demonic game that I’m incredibly excited for with some truly unique systems at play. With the game’s launch right around the corner, we’ve got an exclusive look at a new trailer to show you.
The Deadly Path casts you as the Custodian, trapped in a fantasy underworld alongside the gods of the Dread Pantheon, who also happen to hate your guts. Instead of taking these deities head-on, you appease them by laying out a grid of cards. You need to gather materials, construct dungeon defenses, and upgrade your facilities in order to defeat the unseen threats headed your way. It’s a tricky but rewarding blend of genres, and we learned all about it last year.
The roguelike is all about planning. You need to gather materials to build and upgrade structures, find places to train all your units, and make sure everything you’ve gathered has been refined into valuable resources. What you’re left with is a mix of building management and strategy games.
With The Deadly Path’s launch around the corner, we at PCGamesN have an exclusive new trailer you can watch below. There’s even a surprise appearance from YouTuber and comedian Alasdair Beckett-King, who I’m sure you’ll instantly recognize from his series of satirical skits.

If you love a roguelike with a variety of goals, then The Deadly Path is for you. Each of the eclectic and (sometimes) nightmare-inducing Dread Deities has its own gameplay quirks, perks, and victory conditions you need to meet in order to proceed. I’ve never quite seen a game like The Deadly Path, but it already has that ideal mix of strategy, chance, and gorgeous art that’s easily reeled me in.
The Deadly Path is set for launch on Tuesday March 25, with a Steam demo available right now. Head right here to learn more.
