BJP MP Tejasvi Surya attended the ongoing 18th Lok Sabha session on Thursday. He was snapped at the parliament with his wife Sivasri Skandaprasad. This is their official first public appearance together in Parliament.

In pictures, Tejasvi Surya was seen greeting with folded hands. He stood beside Carnatic singer Sivasri Skandaprasad as both smiled for pictures.

The couple tied the knot on March 6, in an intimate ceremony. Their wedding largely stayed out of the media spotlight. It was only attended by close family members and a select group of political figures including BJP MPs and MLAs.
Among these were top BJP leaders. From state president B Y Vijayendra to Union minister V Somanna, the wedding had the attendance of Arjun Ram Meghwal.
Later, Surya announced his wedding on social media. Sharing first pictures from their wedding ceremony, the MP wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “With the blessings of Gurus, elders, and well wishers, married @ArtSivasri today as per vedic traditions. We seek your blessings and wishes as we start this journey together!”
The couple also held a grand wedding reception in Bengaluru.
Sharing a video for the guests of their wedding reception, the couple had shared a request. “Sivasri and I are eagerly looking forward to see you all at our wedding reception tomorrow. However, we have a request,” his post on X read.
He urged the guests to not bring flowers, bouquets, or dry fruits as gifts. He explained the reason behind it and said 85 per cent of wedding flowers and bouquets were “discarded within 24 hours after the event. And 300,000 kg of dry fruits from weddings are left behind annually.”
“The potential charity value of such bouquets and dry fruits stands at ₹315 crore annually,” he added.
“Special arrangements have also been made for the easy access of senior citizens & Divyang. We look forward to receiving your wholesome blessings tomorrow from 11 am at Vruksha, Palace Grounds, Bengaluru,” the two-time Lok Sabha Member added.
Who is Sivasri Skandaprasad
Sivasri Skandaprasad is a trained Carnatic musician. She is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer who has performed on prestigious stages, including Brahma Gana Sabha and Kartik Fine Arts, as well as in Denmark and South Korea.
She is also a bioengineering graduate with a master’s degree from Chennai Sanskrit College. She has a master’s in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras. Reportedly, Sivasri studied Sanskrit and earned a diploma in Ayurvedic cosmetology as well.
