Stock Market Today: Reliance Power share price saw sharp gains of more than 9% in the morning trade on Thursday following the October-December quarter (Q3) earnings announcement.
Reliance Power share price opened at ₹41.38 on the BSE today, over 3% higher than the previous close of ₹39.89. Reliance Power share price thereafter gained further to an intraday high of ₹43.69, translating into over 9% gains.
Reliance Power Q3 Results
After reporting a loss of ₹1,136.75 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year, Reliance Power declared a profit of ₹41.95 crore for the quarter that ended in December 2024 on Wednesday post market hours.
In the third quarter, total revenue increased from ₹1,998.79 crore to ₹2,159.44 crore. Expenses, meanwhile, decreased to ₹2,109.56 crore in the most recent quarter compared to ₹3,167.49 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year.
The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) stood at ₹492 crore during the October-December 2024 quarter.
Reliance Power Debt Reduction
Reliance Power in a release to the exchanges said that the total debt servicing, including maturity repayment in 9 months of financial year, stood at ₹4,217 crore.
Reliance Power highlighted that its debt-to-equity ratio was among the lowest in the industry. It reduced from 1.61:1 at the end of FY24 to 0.86:1 by the end of Q3FY25.
The company further added that it has zero debt and no defaults.
Reliance Power’s net worth at the end of the third quarter stood at ₹16,217 crore ($1,894 million).
Reliance Power Q3 Key Highlights
- Reliance Power said that the 3,960 MW Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project in Madhya Pradesh was among the top-performing plants in the country and it achieved 93 % PLF (plant load factor).
- The 1,200 MW Rosa Power Plant in the Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh saw availability of ~ 97 %.
- Reliance NU Suntech Private Ltd, a 100% subsidiary of Reliance Power, recently won a solar battery energy storage system (BESS) Project from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 930 MW plus 1860 MWH.
