With the launch of the desktop Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 reportedly imminent, several new retail leaks now suggest that the first gaming laptops with laptop-grade RTX 5060 GPUs could be ready to launch in early May. This would be an important launch one for gamers, as we’d expect these laptops to be budget-friendly when they launch in the US.

Nvidia uses the same naming structure for both its laptop and desktop GPUs, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re equal in performance, and you will see a difference between the best gaming laptops and their PC equivalents using an RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 due to the thermal and power constraints. We’re not expecting the difference is to be too great between a desktop RTX 5060 and its laptop equivalent, however, although that is yet to be confirmed.

Thanks to hardware leaker momomo_us, we now have an idea about when the first RTX 5060 laptops might arrive. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), momomo_us shared a link from French retailer PC21 showing an MSI VenturePro 16 gaming laptop with an Intel Core 7 240H, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and an RTX 5060 with 8GB VRAM, retailing for 1471.22 EUR / $1,604.65.

Meanwhile, a separate listing from Acer’s Hong Kong store shows an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX gaming CPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and RTX 5060, costing 16,998 HK / $2,187.80. More importantly, the Acer store suggests the laptop is “expected to arrive on or before early May.”

Nothing has been confirmed by Nvidia (or these third-party manufacturers) so far about RTX 5060 gaming laptops, so this date could well be subject to change. With the rumored RTX 5060 launch date potentially being as early as this week, we may get some idea about the specs of the desktop equivalent card, which could give us an early idea about the kind of performance we can expect on laptops, a factor which may have an impact on their US pricing, too.
