Paradox Interactive is celebrating ten years of Cities Skylines with an absolute mountain of content for both games in the series. Throughout the rest of the month, you can expect creator packs and radio stations for each game, as well as updates and a free-to-play period for the original. Paradox is even planning a subscription service for CS1, helping new players dive in.

While DLC subscription models aren’t exactly new for Paradox’s library, it’s the first time we’ve seen it for Cities Skylines. Some of the company’s longstanding strategy games like Europa Universalis 4, Hearts of Iron 4, and Stellaris all offer subs, where you gain access to every expansion as long as you’re paying, and now the city-building game is joining in.

Starting Thursday March 13, you can pay a flat monthly fee and gain access to Cities Skylines’ 65-plus DLC packs. Paradox assures that expansions new and old will be included in the subscription, and says no content will be locked behind the monthly payment. While the sub is for new players, veterans can round out what they already own for less via special offers on the game’s catalog.

Beyond the subscription service, both games are getting new content across the anniversary month. On Tuesday March 18, Cities Skylines 2 is getting three fresh radio stations and another three content creator packs. CS2 is also getting a free patch with ten new assets. Then, between Thursday March 20 and Monday March 24, anyone can play the first game for free on Steam. So if you’re a new player who wants to give the game a try before putting down any cash, you can.

To round out the tenth anniversary celebrations on Tuesday March 25, the original Cities Skylines is also getting loads of extra content. One new radio station and two more creator packs are coming to the first game, alongside another free patch. This update contains three more parks that dynamically adapt to any DLC you own, offering a personalized tribute to your bustling cityscape.
