Hollow Knight: Silksong has received a curious new Steam update, which suggests that a new trailer could be on the way. Previously, the game’s official Steam page featured a trailer, nestled alongside its various screenshots. But, recently, that trailer has been removed from the page.
What does this mean for Hollow Knight: Silksong, the much-anticipated sequel to the original Metroidvania? It implies that there’s a new trailer on the way, possibly one featuring an actual release date.
Announced six years ago, Hollow Knight: Silksong has to be one of the most anticipated Metroidvanias of all time. Granted, no-one expected developer Team Cherry to just shadow drop it, but fans have grown increasingly impatient as the years moved on.
The last trailer was released two years ago, and while the game is set for a 2025 release, there isn’t a more concrete release window. The original Hollow Knight was massively acclaimed and is rated Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam, with a massive 95% score.
Silksong was originally envisioned as DLC for Team Cherry’s stylish smash hit, a stretch goal for the original Kickstarter. It grew into a fully-fledged game, which is where we are now. But the good news for backers of that original Kickstarter is that they should all be getting Silksong for free.
So when is the game actually coming out? We’ve got our fingers crossed the next trailer will shed more light on this, but here’s our estimate of the Hollow Knight: Silksong release date.
