NEW DELHI: Counting of votes for Mustafabad, a general-category assembly constituency in North East Delhi, for the legislative assembly election is under way on Saturday. The constituency is one of 70 assembly seats in Delhi and belongs to the North East Delhi Parliamentary seat.
After 14 rounds of counting, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mohan Singh Bisht, with 77207 votes, is leading against Aam Aadmi Party’s Adeel Ahmad Khan by 38900 votes.

Meanwhile, Tahir Hussain of All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen is trailing at third position with 15989 votes.
The 2025 electoral battle has three main contenders: Adeel Ahmad Khan from AAP, Mohan Singh Bisht from BJP, and Ali Mehdi representing INC.
Other candidates standing in Mustafabad are Sagar Tanha (Peace Party), Mohd Usman Bakhsh (Rashtriya Janmorcha), Ashok Kumar (BSP), Dharam Pal (Bharatiya Sarvodaya Kranti Party), Asha Chaudhary (Bharatiya Sampuran Krantikari Party), Vishal (Peoples Party of India (Democratic)), Nasiruddin Gauri (Rashtriya Republican Party) and Jitender Kumar (Independent).
In the previous 2020 Assembly Election, AAP demonstrated strong electoral performance with Haji Yunus securing victory by obtaining 98,850 votes (53.2%). BJP’s Jagdish Pradhan followed with 78,146 votes (42.1%), while INC’s Ali Mehdi received 5,363 votes (2.9%).
The constituency’s current geographical boundaries were established in 2008, following recommendations from the delimitation commission of India formed in 2002.
Mustafabad is one of ten segments that make up the North East Delhi Parliamentary constituency.
