I’m absolutely awed by the cable management in this Noctua gaming PC build

As a veteran PC builder who takes great pride in my cable management, I always like to see wires routed tidily, but this Noctua-themed gaming PC build genuinely has the best cable tidying I’ve ever seen. Its individually sleeved PSU cables are incorporated into the design of the build itself, almost looking like fabric traces on a wooden PCB.

Clad in the classic brown and beige color scheme synonymous with the Noctua brand, a company that makes some of the best CPU coolers we’ve tested, this sponsored gaming PC build shows a real commitment to meticulous cabling. Not only did its creator build the whole chassis from scratch, but he also crimped, soldered, and sleeved the cables himself, which are carefully routed through custom cable-routing channels.

You can see the whole build process in the video below, where Matt (aka MXC Builds) makes use of an almost absurd number of cable combs to keep all the cables straight and tidy in their channels, and guides them through neatly-rounded holes in the wooden chassis in just the right places.

Meanwhile, the wooden chassis itself is a work of expert craftsmanship, created with a combination of CAD, a laser cutter, and various hand tools, including saws, drills, and chisels, to get everything in just the right place – it’s an awesome piece of precision engineering.

Being sponsored by Noctua, it’s naturally packed with the firm’s gear too, including an Asus X Noctua Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 graphics card, a Noctua NH-U12A CPU cooler, and several of the best PC fans from the company. I also really like the precision-cut custom grilles and vents on the back of the case, and in the bottom of the chassis, while the interior is surrounded by glass like an aquarium – it all adds up to a really fine-looking, classy PC build that you could proudly show off on a mahogany cabinet in your lounge.

It’s that commitment to cabling that really strikes me, though – there’s not even a hint of wires being bunched together; every single wire has been carefully considered and routed to make it look neat and tidy. Matt even took the time to adjust every single cable to make sure the spacing between them was just right. Even the 16-pin 12VHPWR cable was a custom job, with a right-angled adapter and the cables uniformly running straight down the graphics card to the back of the case.

The PC’s creator posted some pics of the build on r/pcmasterrace asking Redditors to rate his cable management skills, and there’s a suitable amount of awe in the comments, with one user adding that “if we lived 500 years ago you would be burned for being a witch.” Even the Noctua badge in the corner has a purpose, doubling as the power button.

Hats off to you MXC Builds, that’s a damn fine bit of cabling work, and I look forward to seeing what else you can build in the future.
