HP’s Omen gaming brand is set to release its own standalone PC components soon. Traditionally known for rather expensive gaming laptops and pre-built PCs, the HP Omen brand is branching out into the wider PC gaming market. This means it is targeting anyone who plans to upgrade their existing PC or build a new one from scratch, as the components won’t be limited to just Omen systems.
If you’re looking for the best gaming PC that will arrive at your door assembled, Omen by HP is a brand you’re very likely to have encountered in your research. In our Omen 40L review, we praise it as a solid 1080p gaming machine, but this new strategy will also enable you to use HP’s Omen-branded gear if you build your own gaming PC.
HP has just revealed that it will be releasing a 120 x 25mm cooling fan, a triple pack of 120 x 28mm cooling fans, a 1,000W modular PSU, a 240mm LCD liquid cooling system, and a 360mm ARGB liquid cooling system.
You can check out each component in more detail on the Omen website, but there is a running theme across each item, with durability, low noise output, and gaming “without worries” being the running themes.
Of note is the ATX 3.1 1,000W power supply supporting 12VHPWR connectors, something not yet adopted by all PSUs. The AIO coolers also operate on a daisy chain system, which means you can link up to 10 fans per chain for easier cable management. Finally, one of the AIO coolers also has an LCD display, which can show your active CPU and GPU temperatures for closer monitoring.
I’m curious to see how these components do against established competition, as while the HP Omen name is often associated with pre-built products, it will undoubtedly carry some weight in the market. Each item looks stylish enough, although images suggest they will only release in black for now.
No release date or pricing has been revealed, with each product simply being marked as “coming soon.” How do you feel about Omen invading the PC component market?
