If you thought Hearthstone was showing any signs of slowing down before its 11th birthday, think again. The Year of the Raptor is upon us, and so too is the latest expansion, Into the Emerald Dream, which sees corrupted forces attempt to take down Ysera’s domain. Players will have to pick a side: will you choose to protect the Emerald Dream, or work with dark forces to turn it into the Emerald Nightmare?
When it comes to all things evil, the Warlock is the most treacherous of all the card game‘s classes, utilizing demons and dark gifts to corrupt and destroy their opponents. Those of you who decide to go that route will be pleased to hear that we’re showing off four new Warlock cards from the upcoming Hearthstone expansion, giving you additional ways to construct deadly decks.

Here’s a list of the Warlock cards we have to reveal:
- Spell: Fractured Power (2 Mana, Epic) – Destroy one of your Mana Crystals. In 2 turns, gain two.
- Minion: Rotheart Dryad (1 Mana, Rare, 1/1) – Deathrattle: Draw a minion that costs (7) or more.
- Minion: Archdruid of Thorns (2 Mana, Epic, 3/2) – Battlecry: Gain the Deathrattles of your minions that died this turn.
- Minion: Hungering Ancient (8 Mana, Common, 6/7) – At the end of your turn, eat a minion in your deck and gain its stats. Deathrattle: Add them to your hand.
Fractured Power allows you to sacrifice your early game turns for strength down the line, but you’ll need to be careful as aggro decks will be quick to punish you. In isolation, this might seem like a terrible deal, but if you pair it up with Ysera, Emerald Aspect, suddenly this spell becomes much more viable in the mid to late game.
Rotheart Dryad, Archdruid of Thorns, and Hungering Ancient as a trio will likely be played together in Control Warlock decks that focus on deathrattles. In the best-case scenario, Rotheart Dryad will land on the board early on, drawing powerful minions like Hungering Ancient. By the time you can use Hungering Ancient, it’ll quickly gain power once it consumes a minion in your deck. Then, if you’re really lucky, you’ll have the chance to play Archdruid of Thorns to get some extra value from your hulking beast when it inevitably dies.
And that’s all we have to reveal for the Into the Emerald Dream Hearthstone expansion. You can add 145 new cards to your collection when Into the Emerald Dream launches on Tuesday, March 25.
