Alongside the Razer Viper V3 Pro, the Deathadder V3 Pro has been making waves on the pro gaming scene since it was released in late 2022. It’s currently the fourth most used mouse among pros in Valorant and Counter-Strike 2, according to ProSettings. The number one mouse for both games is its symmetrical counterpart, the Viper V3 Pro.
The Deathadder V3 Pro weighs in at just 63g and comes with a Focus Pro 30K optical sensor and Razer’s Gen-3 optical switches. It features five programmable buttons and its expected battery life is 90 hours.
Where the Viper V3 and Deathadder V3 differ most is their shape. The Viper V3 Pro is a symmetrical-style mouse with sides of the same height and shape whereas the Deathadder uses a lopsided “ergonomic” shape that slopes down and bulges out towards its right side. This means the Deathadder is ideal for gamers who prefer their hand to sit higher up on a mouse in a grip that uses the palm of the hand. In contrast, the Viper is primarily aimed at being used in a fingertip grip where the palm of the hand doesn’t actually touch the mouse.
