When it comes to huge multiplayer war games that faithfully recreate the arenas, weapons, and vehicles from iconic battles throughout history, Enlisted is right up there as one of the best. Free-to-play and fiercely competitive, it just cranked things up a notch in the latest Enlisted update by sending some of the earliest jet fighters into the skies and adding several exciting weapons to its World War 2 arsenal.

Pitting together the American, Soviet, German, and Japanese armies, Enlisted provides all the tools you need to recreate some authentic WW2 battles. Or, you can use all of those troops, guns, vehicles, and environmental assets to answer some hypothetical ‘who would win?’ questions, or create something totally mad. While it was heavily criticized and even delisted from Steam shortly after launching on Valve’s platform, it’s really turned things around and is now one of the best war games you can play right now. Its brand new Jet Power update is only making things better.

All four forces are receiving at least one jet-powered plane each to really spice up aerial battles. The Americans have the Meteor F Mk.3 and the F-80A-5. The Germans now boast two variants of the same Messerschmitt jet, the Me 262 A-1a/Jabo and the Me 262 A-1/U4. If you’re fighting as the Soviets, you can climb into the Su-9. And finally, the Japanese army can now send the Kikka into the skies.

If you prefer to keep your boots firmly on the ground, then there are several new weapons to try out too.

A new rifle, the Fedorov 1912, and SMG, the Urugan, have been added to the USSR’s arsenal. Unshackling it from the fighter planes it usually adorns, the MG 81 machine gun can now be lugged around by German infantry. To improve the Japanese army’s ability to neutralize tanks, the German-built Ofenrohr rocket launcher is now at their disposal. And finally, the Americans can now use the Northover Projector, which is essentially a long-range cannon that fires phosphorous grenades.

The new update also delivers a bunch of improvements to maps, including a more thorough revamp of Seelow Heights. This particular battlefield now contains “more diverse vegetation, alternate routes to capture points and more cover for infantry.”

The Jet Power update is live right now in Enlisted alongside a new battle pass. If you want to read up on every single change, head to the full patch notes here.
