Which are the best Fragpunk characters? In any hero shooter, the character you choose can have a huge effect on your combat viability. No matter how good your aim is, if you get counter-picked by a character with superior abilities, you’ll struggle to impose yourself on the battlefield effectively. We’ve put together a Fragpunk tier list so you know which Lancers are the best on the battlefield.
To dominate in Fragpunk you’ll need to learn two things: how your abilities work, and which of the rule-breaking Shard cards compliment your style the best. It can be tricky to get to grips with, but as with any FPS game, you’ll get by just fine if you pick the meta characters, and you can shoot straight.
Fragpunk tier list
Here is the latest Fragpunk tier list for March 2025:
Tier | Lancer |
S | Hollowpoint, Kismet, Pathojen, Serket |
A | Chum, Jaguar, Nitro, Sonar, Zephyr |
B | Axon, Broker, Corona, Spider |
S-Tier
S-tier characters are overpowered and useful in nearly every situation, these are the Lancers you should be playing.
Hollowpoint
Here’s one for the sharpshooters. Hollowpoint has a devastating railgun that can one-shot enemies at a surprising range and deploy a smoke screen to corral and confuse the opposition. Best utilized over long ranges, you should try to occupy long corridors, picking off any unfortunate enemies who happen to cross your path.
Hollowpoint’s Paparazzi trap gives her an element of safety as it alerts you to any incoming enemies when deployed effectively. Depending on the game state, you can use this as an opportunity to make your escape or go on the offensive.
Kismet
Kismet offers excellent utility on both offense and defense as she can scan and expose enemies across a short range. She can also become invisible and invulnerable, creating safety when death would usually be the only other option.
Useful for scouting out enemy positions, Kismet’s Hello, Goodbye ability can be used to escape a situation or plant yourself firmly behind enemy lines to wreak havoc.
Pathojen
Every team could benefit from a Pathojen thanks to her ability to heal allies, create walls to block the enemy team, and poison enemies with remote traps.
You should stick with your teammates as Pathojen, offering healing support whenever possible. Cutting off flanking opportunities for your enemies will save you a future headache, and the same ability can be used to corral the opposing team into your line of fire for some easy kills.
Serket
Able to control enemies using her abilities, Serket can direct the flow of battle like few others. She can also set up a transporter, making her incredibly mobile with the smallest amount of planning.
Gold Dust Woman and Dilemma can slow and displace enemies respectively, so you should aim to fight in tight spaces to maximize your survivability. Couple these powerful abilities with her teleporter, and she can be everywhere and nowhere all at once.
A-tier
A-tier characters are good, but perhaps situational in their deployment. Some may only be good on offense, with others favoring defending objectives.
Chum
Chum is the ideal Lancer for area denial. He can deploy his pet, Chomper, to patrol and protect a given space, and also set up various traps for unsuspecting intruders.
Chum has access to an explosive trap and a smoke grenade, and while these can be thrown as normal, you can feed them to Chomper to turn it into a walking C4 or a mobile smokescreen. Hold down the objective with Chum, booby-trapping key areas to devastating effect.
Jaguar
On the face of it, Jaguar seems like a dream for attack-minded players, but his ability to blind and slow enemies can also aid any defense if utilized correctly.
Live Wire can be used to lock off key areas, and if the trap does activate, anyone caught in it will be detected for Jaguar to hunt down. You should use him to push aggressively, or to turn defense into offense, hunting down those unfortunate enough to catch your eye.
Nitro
Another character that does their best work on defense, Nitro can deploy both a remote-controlled drone and a sentry turret. She also has a deployable wall to protect your defensive assets.
You can cut off certain angles of approach with Nitro, and with clever placement of her turret, she can fight on two fronts at once. Not the best Lancer for offense, but an absolute gem when defending.
Sonar
Primarily a defensive character, Sonar can reveal enemies around them, and also dampen their team’s footsteps. Sonar’s Echolocation ability gives you a distinct advantage when fighting in a fixed location, so operating around the objective is key.
When assaulting the enemy, use Sonar’s Sound of Silence ability to mask your approach and grant immunity from the enemy Sonar’s Echolocation. If things get heated, Sonic Surge can disrupt enemies, giving you the opportunity to escape or go in for the kill.
Zephyr
Useful for pushing into enemy territory, Zephyr can turn completely invisible and can teleport to safety with her Get Back ability. You’ll have to resort to melee attacks only while invisible, so using it as a tool to relocate is your best bet. However, attacking while invisible can throw people off as they aren’t expecting it, so be on the lookout should the opportunity arise to land a quick kill.
Her Fade Away ability designates an area where invisibility will be constantly active. If you can utilize this around a key objective, it will be especially difficult for the enemy to pin you down.
B-tier
B-tier characters could be useful in the right hands, but most will struggle to get a tune from them.
Axon
Another purely combat-focused pick, Axon can shred enemies up close with his electric guitar, but you may find yourself out-ranged by most other Lancers. Quite a chaotic Lancer, your best bet is to lean into the destructive nature of Axon, creating havoc with his Sticky Fingers grenades and closing the distance with his ability to slide.
The main drawback with Axon is his range; you need to be fairly close to enemy Lacers to do much damage, and could find yourself picked off before you get a chance to show them what you can do.
Broker
A little one-dimensional, Broker is a combat-orientated Lancer that can destroy enemies with his rocket launcher, and create long lines of vision-obscuring smoke.
While a good pick for beginners, a lot may find he has limitations when it comes to utility. Smokestack Lightning can be great to obscure an approach, but his rocket launcher, Goddard’s Vengeance, can be inconsistent unless the enemy is in anchored behind cover.
Corona
Corona thrives on being in battle, with one of his abilities reducing incoming damage. It can be tricky to use effectively as you will always be in harm’s way.
Similar to Axon, Corona has to be up close and personal to really shine. Utilizing his Ashes to Ashes ability to reduce damage can be a double-edged sword as you need enemies to be in the zone to take damage, while forcing you to be in the same zone to trigger the effect. Skilled players may find some joy here if you try to use this ability in contested areas of the map.
Spider
Spider’s main utility comes from the teleporters they can place, offering quick redeployment for teammates. He’s all about disorienting and reorienting enemies, with his Spirited Away trap able to move entire groups of enemies instantly.
Spider’s drawback is his lack of damaging abilities, forcing you to rely on team coordination to see his true potential. If you’re playing with a strong group of players who utilize team comms, you’ll have much better luck getting the most out of Spider.
