Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s historical drama Chhaava has set the box office on fire, emerging as Bollywood’s first blockbuster of 2025. The film has also become Kaushal’s highest-grossing movie to date, surpassing the lifetime collections of Uri: The Surgical Strike and Raazi.
Even in its second week, Chhaava continues its strong run. On its second Saturday, the film saw an impressive 87.23% surge in earnings, collecting Rs 44 crore, reports Indian Express. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film’s total net collection in India now stands at Rs 286.75 crore.
Strong occupancy across major cities
With 6,530 shows running nationwide, Chhaava has maintained remarkable audience interest. Pune led with an 85.75% occupancy rate across 774 shows, followed by Chennai at 81.50% over 55 shows. Mumbai saw a 74% occupancy across 1,458 shows, while Delhi-NCR recorded a solid 46% across 1,241 shows.
In just nine days, Chhaava collected over Rs 250 crore, officially making it Vicky Kaushal’s biggest hit. It has already surpassed Uri: The Surgical Strike (Rs s 244.14 crore) and is expected to set new benchmarks, further cementing Kaushal’s position as a box office powerhouse.
For Rashmika Mandanna, Chhaava marks her third consecutive Bollywood blockbuster crossing Rs 200 crore, following Pushpa 2: The Rule (Rs 800+ crore) and Animal (Rs 500+ crore). Her consistent success makes her one of the industry’s most bankable stars.
