Baby John Box Office Collection Day 1: Varun Dhawan starrer Baby John has witnessed a slow start at the box office. The film, which is the official remake of Tamil film Theri starring Thalapathy Vijay, released on the occasion of Christmas. Directed by Kalees and presented by Atlee, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff. The film opened to mixed reviews and has recorded a box office collection that is lower than even Theri.
According to Sacnilk, early estimates reveal Baby John has collected Rs 12.50 Cr. The film recorded a lower box office collection as compared to its original version, Theri. As per an India Today report, Theri had recorded an opening day box office collection of Rs 13.1 crore. Theri was released in 2016. The film went on to become the biggest opening of Vijay’s career. Meawhile, Baby John is expected to pick pace in the coming days.
Baby John faces competition from previously released films — Pushpa 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King. Both the films are doing good business at the box office.
Pushpa 2 Box Office Collection Day 21:
Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2 has been unstoppable at the box office. Released earlier this month, the film has done a brilliant business, especially in the Hindi speaking circles. As per Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 earned more than Baby John on Christmas. The film’s Hindi version collected Rs 15 Cr. After including collections from other versions, Pushpa 2 collected Rs 19.75 Cr on Christmas Day.
Pushpa 2’s India box office collection stands at Rs 1109.85 Cr.
Mufasa Box Office Collection Day 6 In India:
Even Mufasa: The Lion King has done good business on Christmas. It has been revealed that Mufasa, which was dubbed by Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu in Hindi and Telugu, respectively, collected Rs 14.25 Cr in India. The film’s English version collected Rs 4.75 Cr, the Hindi version minted Rs 5 Cr, the Telugu version recorded Rs 2 Cr collection and the Tamil version earnerd Rs 2.5 Cr.
