How do you transmog gear in AC Shadows? Early on in your AC Shadows journey, you’ll be picking up low-level gear left and right. Whether it be a new hat or a new sword, chances are it boasts better stats than what you currently have equipped. This is great from a power curve standpoint, but can lead to some pretty garish outfits, and if we’re honest, that just won’t do.
Thankfully, Assassins Creed Shadows lets you transmog gear to resemble the coolest pieces in your inventory without sacrificing its stats. Visual customization lets you take the look of that amazing AC Shadows legendary gear and apply it to a piece of higher-level armor to gain power and look good while you’re at it. Here’s how to take your best AC Shadows armor and transmog it to suit your sense of style.
How to unlock transmog in AC Shadows
To unlock AC Shadows transmog, complete the Way of the Blacksmith quest for Tomiko in the Hideout to recruit Heiji and build a Forge.
Visual customization is automatically available once the Forge is built. To transmog your gear, open your inventory and navigate to the gear you would like to change. Press Y (or Triangle) in the gear menu to open the visual customization menu and select your preferred appearance.
For pieces of armor, you’re able to change their appearance completely to another set of armor you have previously owned, regardless if it’s in your inventory or not. You can also hide your mask/helmet if you’d rather not see that at all; you still gain the effects of your armor, even if it’s hidden.
Weapons transmog uses the same method, only with this, you’re able to mix and match the different parts of the weapon to create something unique – you can change the hilt, blade, pommel, and scabbard of a katana independently, for instance.
