The launch date for the new AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT gaming GPU has reportedly been brought forward. A new leak suggests that the original plan was for a June release, but it now looks as though both the 16GB and 8GB cards could be available as soon as May 18, 2025.
These new GPUs from AMD will be vying to become the best graphics card options for gamers on a budget. It faces stiff competition from the likes of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB model, but until we know more about the RX 9060 XT price and specs, it’s hard to know exactly how it will fare.
According to a post on Board Channels, which was also posted to X by tech leaker harukaze5719, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is having its release date brought forward from June 2025 to May 18, 2025.
No specific dates have been discussed by AMD publicly, and we knew very little about the 9060 XT beyond it being a real card after it was unveiled as a footnote at the end of the RX 9000 series reveal stream.
This reported change in release schedule is surprising, as often plans are pushed back rather than brought forward. It also raises a question over stock levels, and whether, by bringing a date forward, supply will still be able to meet demand.
While it’s exciting to see that this leak suggests the new GPUs will arrive in a matter of weeks, there is also a flipside to the report, suggesting that the RX 9070 GRE has been delayed to Q4 2025, when it was reportedly planned for a May 8 release date.
