After a record-breaking theatrical run, Pushpa 2: The Rule had a strong start on Netflix, holding the No.1 position in its first week. However, its dominance was short-lived, as newer films quickly overtook it in the rankings.

Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen’s Kadhalikka Neramillai initially took the top spot, followed by Yami Gautam’s Dhoom Dhaam, pushing Pushpa 2 to No.3 in India’s Top 10 movies.

Both Kadhalikka Neramillai and Dhoom Dhaam offer multi-language options, including Telugu, making them strong contenders. Adding to the competition, Daaku Maharaaj is set to stream from February 21, likely taking the No.1 position soon.

Unlike Devara, which created buzz on social media for some weeks due to the backlash, Pushpa 2’s OTT release has been met with silence.

There’s neither widespread trolling nor overwhelming fan celebrations. While some question how a formulaic film earned Rs. 2000 crore, most OTT viewers seem indifferent.

Fans still enjoy Allu Arjun’s massy performance in some episodes, but the film’s lack of a strong story has limited post-release discussion.

A few international fan pages tried hyping certain scenes, but that faded quickly.

Despite solid viewership, Pushpa 2 hasn’t made a lasting OTT impact. It now joins the list of big-screen blockbusters that don’t translate into strong digital engagement. To be honest, Pushpa 1 made more impact in pop culture than Pushpa 2.

Allu Arjun might have hoped Pushpa 2 would make waves globally after its Netflix release, much like RRR did.

That film not only dominated social media but also earned praise from some of Hollywood’s biggest names, eventually winning an Oscar.

However, Pushpa 2 has turned out to be just another commercial blockbuster—big on box office numbers but no shelf life.

Unlike RRR, which sparked discussions and admiration long after its release, Pushpa 2 has faded into silence very soon, with no significant cultural impact beyond its theatrical success.

However, Allu Arjun might be still hoping for some miracle.
