The espresso machine is one of the many cooking stations in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, allowing you to brew coffee, frappes, espresso, and other tasty drinks for your island inhabitants. (The game calls these types of drinks “cozy beverages.”
Notably, you can use the upgraded espresso machine to make chocolate chai, which is Cinnamoroll’s favorite item to be gifted. To use the espresso machine, you’ll need to combine items with candlenuts, which you get as a reward for giving gifts to Hangyodon. You can upgrade the espresso machine by befriending Hangyodon further.

How to unlock the espresso machine
The espresso machine is in Hangyodon’s comedy club underwater. In order to get there, you’ll need to unlock swimming and diving, the latter which unlocks from a quest after hitting friendship level six with Kuromi. Once you do, you can swim to the comedy club and find the espresso machine on the left side:

After reaching friendship level 11 with Hangyodon, you can also repair the espresso machine in Hello Kitty’s cafe, so you can use that one, too. Shortly after, at friendship level 12 with Hangyodon, you’ll be able to unlock the crafting plan to make a working espresso machine and place it in visitor cabins.
How to upgrade the espresso machine
You upgrade the espresso machine pretty early into Hangyudon’s relationship. You only need to hit friendship level four with Hangyodon to upgrade the espresso machine. Once you do, you can add a second ingredient to the espresso, allowing you to make more stuff.
If you’re looking to level up friendship with Hangyodon quickly, you can give him fish. The fish from around Rainbow Reef works really well, as most of them will fulfill two hearts for them.
You can also expedite this process by using items like Friendship Bouquets and Friendship Blossoms to gift Hangyodon more without having to wait until the next day (or time travel).

Below, we list all of the permanent espresso and coffee recipes in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.
Note that there are a limited-time recipes — the “50th Anniversary Frappe” and the “50th Anniversary Latte” — but they’re not counted as part of the collections page and you can’t make them consistently, as they use a limited-time material, so we don’t have them on our list.
There are also multiple recipes for the same drink, but they are registered individually in your collections. For example, using cinna blooms or magma blooms will both give you Chai, but it will register as “Chai Recipe (Cinna Blooms)” and “Chai Recipe (Magma Blooms)” in your collections, so you may want to make all of these to collect all the recipes fully.
