Months after they departed from ADOR, NJZ (formerly NewJeans) rebranded themselves and even revealed other exciting endeavours under their new identity. Now, in a new turn of events, the group’s parents released a statement alleging that ADOR applied for an injunction in “an attempt to restrict and completely block NJZ’s activities.” They also mentioned that the HYBE subsidiary expanded “the injunction application on February 11 to request a ban on not only advertisements but also all musical activities, including writing, composing, performing and singing.”

After NJZ’s parents’ statement surfaced in the media, ADOR released an official statement explaining that they never attempted to block any of the quintet’s activities on Thursday, March 6 (KST). The agency also stated that they had no choice but to expand the injunction, given that the five-membered K-pop group continued to release new songs and announced an overseas performance.

“While the injunction was to preserve the status of the contract and prevent them from signing advertisement contracts, they continued to release new songs and announce large-scale overseas performances, so we had no choice. This is not to restrict them but to do these activities together with ADOR while keeping the contract,” said ADOR, as quoted by Koreaboo.

Reiterating that they have never pressured the concert organisers into cancelling NJZ performance, the agency further added, “As we have revealed, we have never pressured the concert organizers or expanded the application as a retaliatory measure. We will explain the misunderstandings in court tomorrow and seek the judgment that ADOR is the agency that manages NewJeans.”

This new statement comes almost a week after NJZ made a bold move of unveiling their new logo and launching new social media accounts other than Instagram, the ones that are not under ADOR’s control. They created a lot of buzz by launching their own independent channels on X, TikTok and YouTube, thus taking another step towards reinforcing their new identity.

Just a day after their announcement, ADOR issued a firm statement regarding NJZ’s latest move. The agency claimed that these new and independent accounts were unauthorised and a direct violation of the group’s existing contract. Moreover, in a live broadcast, NJZ, comprising Danielle, Hanni, Haerin, Hyein and Minji, also hinted that they were working under a different management after leaving ADOR back in November 2024.
