Director Sukumar, celebrated for his recent blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule, left fans stunned with an unexpected remark about quitting cinema. The statement, made during the Game Changer promotional event in Dallas, came when Sukumar, the chief guest, was asked what was the one thing he would leave behind. His response, “Cinema,” surprised everyone, including actor Ram Charan.
Actor Ram Charan immediately took the mic to lighten the mood, urging Sukumar to reconsider his words and playfully dismissed the comment. However, the remark quickly went viral, sparking debate among fans. While some believe Sukumar was just making a light-hearted comment, others speculate that the statement may reflect his frustration with the controversies surrounding Pushpa 2. On December 4, a 35-year-old woman named Revathi died in the stampede, leaving her nine-year-old son Sri Tej critical. This led to Allu Arjun’s arrest on December 13 and he was let out of prison after interim bail on December 14.

Despite the controversies, Pushpa 2 continues to dominate globally, crossing Rs 1,500 crore at the box office. However, its success has been overshadowed by the tragic events at its Hyderabad premiere. Following the incident, cases have been filed against Hyderabad theatre and Allu Arjun.
Meanwhile, Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun was questioned for four hours by Hyderabad police on Tuesday regarding alleged lapses in permissions for the premiere. The actor assured his full cooperation with the investigation. Producer and Allu Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind, in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers, announced a Rs 2 crore compensation to support the injured boy and his family. The contribution includes Rs 1 crore from Allu Arjun, Rs 50 lakh from director Sukumar, and Rs 50 lakh from Mythri Movie Makers.
As the controversies continue, Sukumar already has significant projects in the pipeline, including RC 17 with Ram Charan and Pushpa 3: The Rampage with Allu Arjun.
