Capcom is making some tough Monster Hunter Wilds rewards easier to obtain

Capcom is changing how it distributes Monster Hunter Wilds Challenge Quest rewards, so you’ll be able to get them much more easily. Bonuses tied to specific leaderboard rankings are thankfully being scrapped, so you won’t miss out if you don’t make the cut. Instead, the requirements are being relaxed, so you won’t have to fight tooth and nail to get a cute little pendant for your weapons. The changes follow a series of issues with cheating, as bad actors run rampant across Challenge Quests and clog up the leaderboards. Going forward, however, these players won’t be a problem.

With the arrival of Monster Hunter Wilds title update 1, Capcom finally added the Grand Hub to its hugely successful RPG. It’s a place where you can hang out with friends, upgrade and craft new gear, or simply kick back between hunts (I’ve been vibing to the tunes). The Grand Hub is also where you can take part in time-based Challenge Quests, with some even offering exclusive rewards. Starting now, these bonuses are going to be much easier for you to get.

“Going forward, future Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will not include rewards that require specific leaderboard rankings,” Capcom writes. “Rankings on the Expedition Record Board will continue to be viewable as usual. Stay tuned for updates on future event rewards to come!”

Capcom’s change to rewards starts with the ‘Doshaguma of the Hollow’ Challenge Quest. From now on, you simply need to participate in the event to get the Mark of Bravery pendant, and only need to achieve a Rank ‘A’ time to get the Mark of Mastery pendant. This is Capcom’s effort to mitigate the impact of cheaters during these time-limited events, as before now you’d need to land somewhere within the top 10,000 players for the Mastery pendant.

To ease your mind going forward, Capcom also outlines how it’ll treat cheaters during these Challenge Quests. If the developer determines a time was obtained fraudulently, it’ll either suspend or ban the account in question. The cheater also won’t be registered in any rankings, and they won’t get any of the rewards.

So, Challenge Quests are getting some massive improvements, then. Not only will it be easier for you to obtain limited-time rewards going forward, but cheaters will get a swift boot up the backside once found out.
