LG’s brand new 45-inch Ultragear GX9 curved OLED gaming monitor, featuring the world’s first 5K2K display, is finally available to pre-order. Originally revealed in December 2024, this brand-new display also has a 0.03ms response time and a 330Hz refresh rate when it’s running in its 2560 x 1,080 mode.

This new LG OLED gaming monitor is positioned as one of the best gaming monitors on paper and LG says it was engineered for the “most demanding gamers.” Its $1,999 price tag might be sky-high, but it looks justified when compared to similar ultrawide OLED monitors, and it comes packed with features to try and justify its cost.

The LG Ultragear GX 9 45GX950A-B is being advertised as the world’s first 5K2K OLED gaming monitor, and it has an ultrawide resolution of 5,120 x 2,160, with the option to switch it to a 2,560 x 1,080 monitor when you need it for gaming.

This higher resolution should help overcome the issue we encountered in our Acer Predator X45 review, which is another 45-inch ultrawide display. The lower resolution of this monitor was great for flight and racing sims, but not so much for working.

As a dual-mode display, you can not only drop the resolution with full scaling and no blurriness, but you can also double the 165Hz refresh rate at 5,120 x 2,160 to 330Hz at 2,560 x 1,080, while the ultrafast 0.03ms response time persists between modes. The LG Ultragear GX 9 45GX950A-B also comes with support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync for stutter-free gaming without tearing artifacts.

Meanwhile, its I/O options consist of a DisplayPort 2.1 input and HDMI 2.1 connection with a USB-C also featured. Built-in speakers are also included with DTS Headphone:X support.

Pre-orders for the LG Ultragear GX 9 45GX950A-B are live until March 30, at which point the display will start to ship out to more LG-authorized retailers.
