Abhishek Kapoor’s period epic Azaad proved to be one of the biggest flops of Bollywood recently. Produced on a whopping budget of ₹80 crores, the film struggled to make just ₹9.09–10 crores at the box office, leaving the producers with huge losses.
Although it had big stars like Ajay Devgn and Diana Penty sharing screen space with newbies Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgn, the film did not connect with the masses.

The sole ray of hope of Azaad was its trending song Uyi Amma, which became famous for its hooks and demonstrated the potential of Rasha Thadani as an artist.
The performance was foreshadowing sparks of her talent, but the failure of the film overshadowed her arrival. Now with Azaad releasing on Netflix on March 14, 2025, there is some hope that the online audience would give it another chance.
