Although Netflix‘s Stranger Things season 5 doesn’t have a release date yet, the Duffer Brothers confirmed it will be here in 2025, which is exactly the news that fans wanted to hear. Since it has been several years since Stranger Things season 4, fans have been waiting a while to see Vecna (Jamie Campbell Brown) again, learn more about the Upside Down, and hopefully watch Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) restore order and happiness in Hawkins and possibly the world.
Although fans know that Stranger Things season 5 has finished filming, there hasn’t been a trailer or a teaser yet. If there was a Stranger Things season 5 trailer sometime soon, fans would look forward to the last season even more, and it would be fun to see even a brief glimpse of what’s to come.

Stranger Things Season 5 Needs A Trailer Sometime Soon
Stranger Things season 5 needs a trailer in the next few months to build up hype and anticipation for the final season. Since fans have been waiting since July 2022 for new episodes, it would be great to see something soon. While of course the cast and crew want to stay as quiet as possible about major details since they don’t want to spoil anything, a trailer could still suggest what fans have to look forward to. It would be possible to show Hawkins without diving too deeply into what’s to come.
Although viewers would tune into the last season of Stranger Things without seeing any images or watching any teasers or trailers, there are a few reasons why trailers are so effective. For one thing, trailers share the tone, vibe, and mood of the upcoming episodes. Given how dark Stranger Things season 4 was at certain moments, from all the time spent in the Upside Down to Max Mayfield’s (Sadie Sink) grief over her brother Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery), it would be helpful to see what the tone of Stranger Things season 5 is.
While fans know that there will be a big battle against Vecna, they’re still curious about what that will look like, and even seeing a brief glimpse would be helpful and exciting. Will there be some funny moments, like the comic relief Argyle (Eduardo Franco) offered in the fourth season? A trailer could answer those questions.
A Stranger Things season 5 trailer would also allow fans to lean into their predictions for the epic ending. For a few years now, fans have come up with endings for each main character, and they’ve wondered about a possible time jump. While it’s fun to imagine what could happen, it would be even better if these theories could be based on a trailer.
Anytime a cast or crew member talks about Stranger Things season 5, they describe it as big. Finn Wolfhard commented on the last season and said it’s “a huge season, just the scale of it.” Director and executive producer, Shawn Levy, talked about the final season in an interview with Total Film. Levy said:
“There’s no way to be contiguous with Season 4, and not, frankly, expand scale and depth.”
He continued:
“It’s major, major, cinematic storytelling that happens to be called a TV series. Stranger Things 5 is as big as any of the biggest movies that we see.”
When Was The Stranger Things Season 4 Trailer Released?
On April 12th, 2022, Variety reported on the Stranger Things season 4 trailer, which was just as thrilling as the cool Stranger Things season 4 poster. While playing the Journey song “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” the trailer showed Will and Eleven off in California with the other characters at Hawkins High School. Viewers heard someone tell Eleven:
“A war is coming. Your friends in Hawkins are very much in the eye of a storm. I don’t know how to say this other than just to say it — without you, we can’t win this war.”
After the Stranger Things season 4 trailer was released in April 2022, Stranger Things season 4 part one, which consisted of seven episodes, was released on May 27th, 2022. Then, a trailer for Stranger Things season 4 part two came out on June 21st, 2022. Episodes eight and nine were released on July 1st, 2022.
If Stranger Things season 5 followed the same timeline, then fans could expect a trailer to be released about a month before the final season arrives on Netflix. However, it’s unclear if Netflix will put out a trailer a few months before the release date in order to get people even more excited.
