In a couple of days, it will mark 13 years since the release of the last mainline Silent Hill game. That’s a wild amount of time for a series with such prestige. Silent Hill f, revealed well over two years ago now, is meant to mark the end of that wait, but we’re still yet to see any proper gameplay of the upcoming horror game. However, Konami has just confirmed a new Silent Hill Transmission date and time, and the livestream will finally deliver more details and a fresh look at Silent Hill f.
Even though Bloober Team’s stunning remake of Silent Hill 2 has helped alleviate some of the pain, the wait for Silent Hill f has been pretty agonizing. Aside from its initial, haunting teaser trailer, we’ve seen nothing about the new horror game. Konami has at least confirmed a few things up until now, including that it’s being developed by NeoBards Entertainment, Japanese writer Ryukishi07 will be crafting its “completely new” narrative, and it’s set in 1960s Japan. But there’s been a desperate thirst for more information. Very soon, your thirst will finally be quenched.
“This Transmission will uncover Silent Hill f,” Konami simply says in announcing its new livestream. That sounds a lot like a full reveal with gameplay to me. I think there’s more than a strong chance that we’ll get a launch date for the game too – seeing as Silent Hill f was recently rated by the South Korean ratings board, I don’t think the wait for that date will be too long either.
The new Silent Hill Transmission stream, featuring Silent Hill f, will air on Thursday, March 13 at 3pm PDT / 6pm EDT / 10pm GMT / 11pm CET.
I do wonder if we’ll see more than just Silent Hill f during this livestream as well. Silent Hill Townfall – the first project in a spinoff anthology series that was revealed with a teaser alongside Silent Hill f back in 2022 – has also had nothing else said about it all this time.
An even wilder prediction may be that Konami confirms another remake of a classic Silent Hill game is coming, following the success of Bloober’s Silent Hill 2. Right now though, Silent Hill f is the only confirmed appearance.
