If you’ve missed out on Exoborne before, don’t fret. A new large-scale playtest is underway, letting players try out Sharkmob’s promising-looking extraction shooter. So, it’s time to rally the squad – and maybe bring your raincoat.
Exoborne is an upcoming multiplayer tactical extraction shooter that sees you slipping into your best exo-rig and going head-to-head with other players in a hostile world with ever-changing, violent weather conditions. From what we’ve seen, it’s a strong contender for our best FPS games list.
If you’re a fan of games like Escape from Tarkov and Helldivers 2, this should be right up your street. Drop in with your team and complete your objectives, while navigating the warring factions and enemies that populate the Colton Colony. If that’s not tricky enough, you’ll have tornadoes, apocalyptic storms, and lightning strikes to content with, too. Planning ahead is key, so you’ll need to strategize with your team before dropping in, customizing your rig and loadout to synergize with your squad.
If you want to try Exoborne ahead of its (currently TBC) release date, you can still sign up for the playtest via its Steam page. This large-scale playtest will give you a taste of the high-octane action, but make sure to sign up soon, as places are limited.

Sharkmob previously ran a closed beta test for Exoborne in May 2024, so if you missed out – or simply want another taste – now is the perfect opportunity to try it out.
