TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Chelsea sent scouts to watch Samu Aghehowa on Friday who featured in FC Porto’s 1-1 draw with Sporting CP.
Chelsea came close to signing Samu for £34.5m last summer, however, the deal fell through and they ended up signing Joao Felix instead from Atletico Madrid.
The 20-year-old later moved to Porto and the striker has continued to impress the Blues’ scouts at the Estadio do Dragao.
Last month, TBR Football revealed that Chelsea had conversations about Samu and he remains a player they are considering to add to their striking department this summer.
Chelsea continue to monitor Samu Aghehowa
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been informed Chelsea remain a huge fan of Samu Aghehowaand, who has been compared to Diego Costa, and are continuing to do their work on scouting him.
The West London club had representatives in attendance for Porto’s 1-1 draw at home with Sporting – Samu did not score but he did assist the late equaliser for the hosts.
The striker has now taken his tally for the season to 18 goals and three assists for the Portugese outfit and that is why he remains an important target for Enzo Maresca’s team.
Maresca will be hoping to add another striker to his squad in the summer with John Obi Mikel urging Chelsea to upgrade Nicolas Jackson.
Chelsea are also watching Sporting CP’s Conrad Harder
TBR Football can also reveal that Chelsea were doing their work on Sporting CP forward Conrad Harder – who they started looking at for January.
Harder is considered the heir-apparent to Viktor Gyokeres but the teenager is also now attracting interest in his own right, and Chelsea are huge fans of the 19-year-old.
The Dane has not been quite as fruitful in front of goal as Samu although he does still have 11 goals and seven assists to his name.
